With breathtaking landscapes of the great Shiwalik ranges, vast meadows straight out of a Hollywood country flick, dense woods and rivers meandering peacefully through the changing terrains, Corbett is a day dreamer’s fantasy! It wasn’t for nothing that its magnificence was awarded by making it India’s first national park in 1932. Named after the legendary Jim Corbett, the long dusty paths and the lush, green forests still echo the hushed footsteps of the great man! Jim Corbett lived in these mighty foothills of the Shiwaliks, he hunted and conserved and in the process paved the way for India’s conservation success! A few days in this rich land is sure to leave you more contented than ever. A drowsy feeling of bliss and tranquility creeps through your veins, ultimately putting you in a trance. Arrival in Delhi in the morning and today we will transfer to Ramnagar by AC Vehicle. Lunch en-route. Post check in, we will conduct introductory session on Corbett. In the Evening a short birding trail along the Kosi River. A brief session on Photography Essentials would be conducted, with some quick tips and insights into the art and science of photography which will help the participants’ over time. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner. Overnight stay at the resort.
Leave early in the morning after breakfast for Dhikala, we will enter through the Dhangari Gate, Dhikala is around 40 Km inside the jungle from this point, this makes this journey a safari itself as we would sight various birds, mammals and if luck favors we might encounter an Elephant or even the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger. Check-in into the forest rest house. These rooms are basic but comfortable. Post lunch enjoy an evening safari in the forest, famed for its wild elephants and the Tiger! Later, the GW Photo Mentor would conduct a review session regarding photography tips and the day’s sightings. After a delectable dinner, the day ends. Overnight at Dhikala/ Ghairal forest rest house.
Day 3 and 4
Over the next 2 days, we will enjoy morning and evening safaris in the National Park. We would enter the park in search of opportunities to photograph the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers, the Asiatic Elephants mud bathing against picturesque backdrops and the diverse wildlife which is found in abundance at the National Park.
The GW Photo Mentor would be mentoring the participants over time, both on and off the field and would help participants to make the most out of the available opportunities. With drivers and guides trained to position vehicles best suited for photography we would possibly have many opportunities to photograph the rich wildlife biodiversity here.
In the evenings, the GW Photo Mentor will conduct review sessions based on the day to day experiences, may it be related to matters of photography, post processing or even natural history we are here to listen all your doubts and provide the best solutions possible!
After an early morning safari we will have a hearty breakfast and will leave for Delhi to board the respective flights back home with wild memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.

- What to expect when in Corbett?
India’s first national park, the main attraction here is the Tiger. Besides tigers, Corbett is home to the Asiatic Elephants. One can often see a herd of elephants walking through the forest or a lone tusker busy feeding on its favorite tree. Other herbivores like the Sambar, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer etc can be found. The bird life in Corbett is something to look out for as one can find raptors and variety of Himalayan birds in this forest. Birds like Blue Throated Barbet, Long Tailed Broadbill, Pin Tailed Green Pigeon, Kalij Pheasant, Pallas Fishing Eagle, Cinerous Vulture, etc can be seen. Corbett is a home to variety of aquatic birds and amphibians. If lucky, one can even spot the Otters near the river bank.
- What is the usual sharing in vehicles & accommodation?
The accommodations are always on double sharing basis unless otherwise opted for. Single sharing basis attracts an additional nominal fee, while triple sharing allows you to be eligible for a small discount.
Specific Photography Mentoring Tours have 4-in-a-vehicle facility. You will share your vehicle with 2 other participants and the GW Photo Mentor leading the tour.
- Is it safe?
Open jeep safaris & even nature trails conducted by us follow the highest safety standards, and we take all necessary precautions involved. We respect the wild animals and their comfort, and keep adequate distance while photographing them. However its worthy of noting, that being cautious goes a long way in preventing any mishaps.
- How is the climate in Corbett?
The temperature in summer reaches to 40 degrees Celsius. The mornings are hot but it get pleasant by the evenings. The temperature in winters may drop to a minimum of 1 degree Celsius. Traveling during both the seasons has its perks!

The jungle can be visited by anybody who is fond of wildlife and photographing it. It is apt for beginners and amateur photographers, as the tour can provide you with an excellent learning opportunity with detailed insights and tips based on wildlife photography. Apart from the season wise apparels, we recommend you to only wear comfortable clothes with colors that will go with the nature. Bright colors like red, orange, white, yellow etc are a strict no no. We will provide a detailed list of things to be carried before the tour. For any queries regarding photography equipment that needs to be carried along, you can always ask our experts for advice.
- Can I get Veg/ Jain food?
Apart from the stays in Forest Rest Houses; food menu is usually tailor made according to the group. Veg food is available at all locations, and Jain food can be arranged for if informed at the time of booking.
