From dense forests and mosaic grasslands to muddy marshes, the topography of Dudhwa National Park, is as varied as the wildlife population it has. Dudhwa National Park is situated in Uttar Pradesh, covering the areas of Kheri and Lakhimpur districts. This region comes under the sub Himalayan area called as Terai belt. This Terai region is acknowledged as the most endangered ecosystems throughout the world. Hailed as the land of Billy Arjan Singh, and his famous Tigress Tara, and Leopards Prince, Juliette & Harriett, Dudhwa is a lesser explored gem in the Terai Arc. Located on the Indo-Nepal border, Dudhwa National Park represents one of the few remaining examples of a highly diverse and productive Terai ecosystem, supporting a large number of endangered species and tall wet grasslands. Dudhwa being spread over an expanse of approximately 811 sq km of marshes, grasslands and dense forests, is an ideal and protected home for over 38 species of mammals, 16 species of reptiles and is also a safe haven for more than 450 bird species. Owing to it’s rich biome and diverse wildlife Dudhwa has a lot to offer!

Board the flight to Lucknow. Arrival in Lucknow and transfer to Dudhwa by AC Vehicle, lunch en-route. Arrive at Dudhwa by afternoon. Check-in at the Forest Rest House, followed by time to rest. In the evening get acquainted with your campsite. The GW Mentor will conduct a quick introductory session on Dudhwa and the incredible wildlife diversity that can be found here. Later enjoy a sumptuous dinner arranged for you before hitting the bed. Overnight at the Forest Rest House.
Day 2 & 3
Today we shall set out for a morning safari through the interiors of Dudhwa exploring the wild Sal forest of Dudhwa, tracing tigers and other wildlife. You will have many opportunities for birding in these mystic forests as Dudhwa is known for it’s rich avifauna. Back to resort for breakfast. Post Breakfast at leisure. Lunch will be served at the resort. Post lunch yet another jungle safari in an open jeep where you will have opportunities to explore this mesmerizing forest. Keep an eye on the different reptiles that can be seen here, especially the endangered Gharial! The photo opportunities would be endless! Later dinner and overnight at resort.
Today is our last safari at Dudhwa, after enjoying the morning safari we will have a hearty breakfast and head back on our way to Lucknow. Later transfer to the airport where you can board the respective flights back home with endless memories of the beautiful forest. Main attraction in Dudhwa is the Tiger and Swamp Deer. Apart from this, one can also see the Sambar Deer, Barking Deer, Spotted Deer, Sloth Bears, Jackals, Civets, Jungle Cats etc. Variety of avifauna like the Swamp Francolin, Sarus Cranes, Woodpeckers, Barbets, Kingfishers, Fishing Eagles etc can be spotted here.
Open jeep safaris & even nature trails conducted by us follow the highest safety standards, and we take all necessary precautions involved. We respect the wild animals and their comfort, and keep adequate distance while photographing them. However its worthy of noting, that being cautious goes a long way in preventing any mishaps.
The accommodations are always on double sharing basis unless otherwise opted for. Single sharing basis attracts an additional nominal fee, while triple sharing allows you to be eligible for a small discount.
Safari vehicles as well as internal transit vehicles (such as SUVs) are usually shared between 6 people, unless indicated otherwise. Specific Photography Mentoring Tours have 4-in-a-vehicle. Exclusive jeeps can be reserved by a group after paying a surcharge.(group size less than 6)
Summers here are hot with temperatures rising upto 40 degrees Celsius. Winters get cold with temperatures going down to 4 degrees Celsius. Traveling during both the seasons has its perks!
