HAMPI – HOLI FESTIVAL

Hampi is a village and temple town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located near Hospet town in the Karnataka state, India. It is located within the ruins of the city of Vijayanagara, the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. The magnificent ruins of Hampi dot an unearthly landscape that has captivated travelers for centuries. Heaps of giant boulders perch precariously over kilometers of undulating terrain, their rusty hues offset by jade-green palm groves, banana plantations and paddy fields. Among the attractions of Hampi are beautiful temples, ruins of palaces, remains of aquatic structures, ancient market streets, royal pavilions, bastions, royal platforms, treasury buildings… the list is practically endless.
