Lush Sal and Bamboo forests are spread with vast grassy meadows, while the Banjaar River, which forms the park’s south-western border, provides a stable water source for the profuse wildlife. These huge grasslands and dense forests collectively make the best living place for many insects, reptiles, animals and birds.

- Day 1 Mumbai-Nagpur
Depart from Pune Railway Station by boarding Pune-Nagpur Garibrath 3 AC at 17:40 hrs.
- Day 2 Nagpur-Kanha
Reach Nagpur at around 09:30 hrs and leave for Kanha. We will have lunch en-route. Upon arrival check-in and freshen up. Get acquainted with the campsite. An introductory session on Kanha will be conducted by the GW Expert. Later enjoy a sumptuous dinner arranged for you. Overnight at the resort.
- Day 3 Kanha
Wake-up call at 04.00 hrs, today we start for our first Jungle safari, by gypsy. Enjoy and explore the forest. Morning safari is of about 5 hour’s duration. Return to the campsite by 11.00 hrs, leisure time where we share our jungle experiences, followed by lunch at 13.00 hrs. Leave for the evening safari by gypsy at 14:30 hrs and return by 18.00 hrs. Free-time till 19.00 hrs after which our volunteers will conduct nature-games and interactive sessions about the day’s sightings. Off to bed after a delightful dinner.
- Day 4 Kanha
Wake-up call at 04.00 hrs. The bliss continues as we leave for an early morning safari. Return to the campsite by 11.00 hrs, enjoy sessions on wildlife photography. After lunch we go for another thrilling jungle safari. Dinner followed by discussions about the day’s sightings mark the end of the day.
- Day 5 Kanha-Nagpur-Pune
This would be our last day at Kanha, enjoy a nature trail in the morning. After a sumptuous meal, we will pack our bags and leave for Nagpur by AC vehicles. Depart for Pune by Garibrath 3 AC at 18:35 hrs. Overnight train journey.
- Day 6 Pune
Reach Pune by 09:30 hrs. This marks the end of a memorable camp.

- What to expect when in Kanha?
Known as the ‘Jewel of Kanha’, the Hard Ground Barasingha is the main attraction. You don’t want to miss seeing this antler as it can only be found here! Other major wildlife like Tigers, Leopards, Jackals and herbivores like Spotted Deer, Wild Boars etc can be spotted here. Plenty of Avifauna like Asian Paradise Flycatchers, Scarlet Minivets, Black-hooded Orioles, Crested Hawk Eagles , Indian Rollers etc make Kanha a birder’s paradise.
- Is there a flight option to this location?
Yes, flights can be opted thus saving one day at the start of the tour and the end; however certain flight timings do not coincide with the train timings; and thus the flight itinerary might make you compromise on the typical itinerary.

- What is the usual sharing in vehicles & accommodation?
The accommodations are always on quadruple sharing basis unless otherwise opted for.
Safari vehicles as well as internal transit vehicles (such as SUVs) are usually shared between 6 people, unless indicated otherwise. Specific Photography Mentoring Tours have 4-in-a-vehicle. Exclusive jeeps can be reserved by a group after paying a surcharge.(group size less than 6)
- Is it safe?
Open jeep safaris & even nature trails conducted by us follow the highest safety standards, and we take all necessary precautions involved. We respect the wild animals and their comfort, and keep adequate distance while photographing them. However its worthy of noting, that being cautious goes a long way in preventing any mishaps.
- How is the climate in Kanha?
Summers here are hot with temperatures rising upto 43 degrees Celsius whereas in winters it gets cold and temperatures may dip as low as 1 degree Celsius. Traveling during both the seasons has its perks!
- Who all can be a part of this tour?
The jungle can be visited by anybody who is fond of wildlife or is a first timer. It is apt for anybody who wishes to experience this journey. Children of any age group, accompanied by adults can be a part of the safaris. For a detailed inquiry you can always ask our experts for advice.

- What do I pack for my travel?
Apart from the season wise apparels, we recommend you to only wear comfortable clothes with colors that will go with the nature. Bright colors like red, orange, white, yellow etc are a strict no no. We will provide a detailed list of things to be carried before the tour.
- Can I get Veg/ Jain food?
Apart from the stays in Forest Rest Houses; food menu is usually tailor made according to the group. Veg food is available at all locations, and Jain food can be arranged for if informed at the time of booking.
- What is the usual batch size?
Usually the batch size varies from 10-16 campers per batch. With small batches and personal attention to every camper we are all set to provide you with the best experience!
