Straddling the Equator, and stretching from the Indian Ocean, spread in the Great Rift Valley and beyond, Kenya is a country of huge variety and exceptional beauty. In fact, the name Kenya has become synonymous with the great wilds of Africa but they represent far more than you would expect, protecting and showcasing a broad range of habitats and species. This thrilling safari takes you into different reserves of Kenya. And, last but not the least, this safari takes you to the world famous open plains of Masai Mara, renowned for the Big 5! The Masai Mara National Reserve is conceivably Kenya’s prime wilderness spot. Entitled as ‘The Home of the Safari’ by renowned personalities such as Ernest Hemingway and Karen Blixen, Kenya never fails to enchant the visitor.

  1. Day 0 Mumbai

    Report at Go Wild office and transfer to Mumbai International Airport. Board the flight for Nairobi at 20:45 hrs.

  2. Day 1 Nairobi

    Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. After clearing the immigration formalities you will be then transferred to the hotel. Time to rest and relax. Some ice breaking sessions and a brief introduction session would be conducted by the Go Wild expert, followed by a sumptuous dinner. Overnight at hotel.

  3. Day 2 Nairobi-Equator-Naivasha

    After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Naivasha which is a magnificent lake in the Great Rift Valley and is home to an amazing 400 species of birds. A quick photo stop at the equator before we reach Lake Naivasha for lunch. After lunch, enjoy a boat ride in Lake Naivasha as you explore the area which is a haven for birds. We will have incredible opportunities to photograph the diverse birdlife that can be found here. Later enjoy a sumptuous meal by the campfire as we discuss about the days sightings. Overnight at the lodge.

  4. Day 3 Naivasha-Lake Nakuru-Naivasha

    After a hearty breakfast, drive with packed lunch to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru National Park is regarded by avid birders as a ornithology spectacle. The Park is famous for its Lesser Flamingos which can be seen on the lake shore in great numbers. A spectacular afternoon game run is planned. The park is hom to the Black Rhino, White Rhino and the Rothschild Giraffe and many more mammal species. The birdlife here includes common species like the Lesser and Greater Flamingos, African Fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White and Pink Backed Pelicans along with many other migrants. After a day packed with bird watching and photography we return to Naivasha. Interactive session on the wildlife sightings and photography followed by a sumptuous dinner. Overnight at the lodge.

  5. Day 4 Naivasha-Masai Mara

    Depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve after a hearty breakfast. Masai Mara is actually a part of the vast Serengeti plains and is home to the big five – Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. We will drive through the scenic Rift Valley, having breathtaking views of hills, grasslands, extinct volcanoes and wheat plantations. Arrive in time for lunch at your resort. After lunch, explore the area in the evening. Interactive session along with some fun games before you enjoy a sumptuous dinner arranged for you. Overnight at the lodge.

  6. Day 5 Masai Mara

    After breakfast, proceed on a game-viewing drive to search the myriad species of game that make this reserve their home. A full day to enjoy the world’s greatest natural theater of wildlife. You will see some of the best game in the world in the rich Mara paradise. Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Zebras, Giraffes, Wildebeest and much more. Do not forget the various avifaunal delights that can be found here! There would be incredible opportunities to photograph the game found here as we explore the Mara plains. In the evening we discuss about the eventful day as we dig in at some great food in front of the campfire. Overnight at the lodge.

  7. Day 6 Masai Mara-Nairobi

    After a hearty breakfast, you will depart for Nairobi. On arrival in Nairobi, a quick stop for shopping. Later you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home. Board the flight for Mumbai at 20:50 hrs.

  8. Day 7 Mumbai

    Reach Mumbai in the morning. Further transfer to Pune.

  1. What to expect when in Kenya?

It consist of a variety of ecosystems each having its uniqueness. It is made up of a mosaic of evergreen forests, wetlands and grasslands. Kenya has variety of wildlife, the famous ‘Big Five’ and the various endemic species found here make it a wild-lifer’s paradise. Traveling in 4×4 land cruiser’s and experiencing the blissful balloon safaris is a cherry on the top!

  2. Are there any prerequisites for travelling to Kenya? 

    Yes, apart from having the Visa, vaccination for Yellow Fever and Adult Polio is mandatory for travelling to Kenya. These vaccinations are mandatory in many countries including India.

  3. What is the usual sharing in vehicles & accommodation? 

    The accommodations are always on triple sharing basis unless otherwise opted for.
    Open Landcruiser Jeeps (non AC) are allotted for the safaris, with window seats and pop-up roof for game viewing. Specific Photography Mentoring Tours have 4-in-a-vehicle.

  4. Is it safe? 

    Open jeep safaris & even nature trails conducted by us follow the highest safety standards, and we take all necessary precautions involved. We respect the wild animals and their comfort, and keep adequate distance while photographing them. However its worthy of noting, that being cautious goes a long way in preventing any mishaps.

  5. How is the climate in Kenya? 

    As Kenya is quite close to the equator, it does not experience a real summer or winter. Throughout the year it is pleasant with temperatures ranging from 20 – 28 degrees Celsius.

  6. Who all can be a part of this tour?

  8. What do I pack for my travel? 

    We recommend you to wear comfortable clothes with colors that will go with the nature. Avoid bright colored clothing.  A sun cap / hat along with a warm jacket or sweater is a must. We will provide a detailed list of things to be carried before the tour.

  9. Can I get Veg/ Jain food? 

    Apart from the stays in Forest Rest Houses; food menu is usually tailor made according to the group. Veg food is available at all locations, and Jain food can be arranged for if informed at the time of booking.

It was an amazing experience traveling with Go Wild. Traveled to Kenya when I was in 9th Std, and enjoyed to the hilt. Fortunately had carried my camera and got much help from Mangesh Dada during the trip. His insights and quick tips helped me enhance my skills in photography. Overall a great experience for sure.Thank You Go Wild for gifting me with a lovely hobby in the form of photography!
