Leh is a town in the Leh district. Famous for its scenic landscapes, the entire tour of Leh will take you through rocky mountains, famous passes and scenic views. Other destination on this tour will take you through cold deserts in Hunder & Pangong, which is a salt water lake amidst mountains.

Winters in Leh which are from November end to Mid-March, the temperature dips to anywhere from -10 to -15 degrees at night. The roads during this season are blocked due to heavy snow fall and hence general tourism is not recommended during this time. The best time to visit Leh is after May till mid September. The snow slowly starts to melt and roads open. To travel throughout the Ladakh region it is advisable to travel from June till September end.

In recent times 80% of the roads in Ladakh region are made up of tar and are double laned. Network connectivity in Leh is only available for selective network companies (Airtel, BSNL, Jio). As per rules of Jammu and Kashmir only post paid connections are allowed here. Apart from this there is very less chance to get network connectivity at all the other places of sightseeing. ATMS’ are available in all the major villages as well as in Srinagar, Kargil and Leh.
- Is it safe?
Yes, it is very safe. Although Leh is situated near the border it has a strong army base. Tourism has rapidly developed in this area after 2013. The security and overall infrastructure compliments the tourism industry very well.
