Kenya is a country situated on the eastern coast of the continent of Africa.
The vast savannahs of Kenya are world famous for the abundance of wildlife found in their plains. Straddling the Equator, and stretching from the Indian Ocean, spread in the Great Rift Valley and beyond, Kenya is a country of huge variety and exceptional beauty. In fact, the name Kenya has become synonymous with the great wilds of Africa but they represent far more than you would expect, protecting and showcasing a broad range of habitats and species.
This thrilling safari takes you into the world famous open plains of Masai Mara, renowned for the Big 5! The Masai Mara National Reserve is conceivably Kenya’s prime wilderness spot.
The views across the rolling golden grasslands studded with acacia trees, rivers and forests are dazzling, the sense of space overwhelming. Throughout the year the Masai Mara is a place of natural drama, a kaleidoscope of colour and life. Entitled as ‘The Home of the Safari’ by renowned personalities such as Ernest Hemingway and Karen Blixen, Kenya never fails to enchant the visitor.
The yoga sessions to follow will focus on individual body parts, practicing yoga asanas that develop strength and flexibility while soothing your nerves and calming your mind.
Shoulder tension reliever: Neck and shoulders happen to be amongst the most common areas where we tend to hold up stress. Stretching the muscles in these areas helps to open up and reduce the built-up tension in the upper body. As the neck and shoulders relax and find their proper state, you experience a more open and relaxed posture.
Heart opener/ spine saver: Whether you’re looking to find more compassion in your life or simply want to counteract the effects of sitting at your computer all day, this supportive and strengthening yoga sequence will awaken your heart, body, and mind.
Belly balanced: Massage and stimulate your belly organs in this class that focuses on your abdomen. Your abdominal muscles, which are part of your core, consist of some of the hardest working muscles in your body. Stretching your abs regularly can increase your flexibility, improve your posture, decrease your risk of injury and back pain.
Happy hips: Your hips act as the body’s emotional junk drawer. neuroscience and somatics point to the hips as a potential storage vessel of emotions. The practice of yoga asanas that focus on this area helps us release not only the tightness in the hips that limit mobility but also these stored up emotions.
Leg lengthened: Hamstring stretches can increase flexibility and improve the range of motion in the hip. Both of these benefits will help people perform daily tasks, such as walking upstairs and bending over, with ease.
Energy boost: Our previous classes come together in this full-body sequence of yoga that is going to prepare you to tackle anything the day throws at you.
