We start the expedition from Ahmedabad and cover Zainabad, Bhuj, Sanchore, Jaisalmer, Sam sand dunes, Tanot, Jodhpur, Ranakpur, Kumbhalgarh, Udaipur and back to Ahmedabad. The voyage is blend of short and extended rides, with an intention to enjoy, not exhaust! We make it a point to visit most of the eminent places during this exhilarating journey.

Pune - Ahemedabad
Leave from Pune by Duronto at 21.35 hrs. Overnight journey.
Ahmedabad-Zainabad (106 kms)
Reach Ahmedabad at 06.15 hrs. Upon arrival pick up the bikes and have breakfast. After breakfast, start your ride to Zainabad. Zainabad is situated near Little Rann of Kutch. Reach Zainabad by evening. En-route we will visit Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary. It is famous as the world’s last refuge of the Indian Wild Ass. Leisure time in the evening followed by dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Zainabad-Bhuj (268 KM)
Post early breakfast leave for Bhuj. Lunch en-route. Reach Bhuj by 16:00 hrs. Some time at leisure followed by dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
(Bhuj is a famous destination for shopping of handicraft work like bandhni (tie-dye) and leatherwork. It is famous for the jolly nature of its citizens, who usually go to the surroundings of Hamirsar lake to relax.
Bhuj is also famous for its food, especially pakvans, dabelies (a local burger stuffed with mashed potato, cooked with masala curry and chutneys). The Gujarati Thali which is unlimited Gujarati food is a not-to-miss item in Bhuj. )
Lakhpat - Bhuj (270 KM)
Post early breakfast, leave for Lakhpat. Lakhpat is located at the mouth of Kori Creek. Lakhpat is the last village of Gujrat border. After Lakhpat sightseeing leave for Bhuj by 16:00 hrs. Reach Bhuj by 19:00 hrs. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Bhuj - Sanchore (331 KM)
Post early breakfast leave for Sanchore. Reach Sanchore by 19:00 hrs. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Sanchore is strategically located on National Highway 15. Sanchore has many hotels, restaurants, or dhabaas.
(Bhuj to Jaisalmer distance is around 623 kms. Hence we take an overnight halt in Sanchore)
Sanchore to Jaisalmer (292 KM)
Leave for Jaisalmer by 08:00 hrs. Reach Jaisalmer by 17:00. Rest and leisure time. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Jaisalmer to Sam Sand Dunes (40 KM)
Post breakfast leave for local sightseeing. Visit Patwon ki Haweli (The Patwon Ji ki Haveli is an interesting piece of Architecture and is the most important among the havelis in Jaisalmer. This is precisely because of two things, first that it was the first haveli erected in Jaisalmer and second, that it is not a single haveli but a cluster of 5 small havelis.) & Jaisalmer fort. (Made of sand stones and locally known as Sonar Quila, the Jaisalmer Fort is a dominating structure amidst sands). Have lunch and leave for Sam Sand Dunes by evening. Enjoy folk dance with camp fire and Rajasthani food at Sam Sand Dunes. Overnight stay at camp.
Sam - Tanot - Jaisalmer (260 KM)
Post early breakfast, leave for Tanot. Reach Tanot by late afternoon. After Tanot Mata darshan leave for Jaisalmer by 16:00 hrs. Reach Jaisalmer by 20:00 hrs. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Jaisalmer to Jodhpur (286 KM)
Post breakfast, leave for Jodhpur by 9:00 hrs. Lunch near Pokhran. Reach Jodhpur by 18:00 hrs. Rest and leisure time. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Jodhpur to Ranakpur (171KM)
Post breakfast leave for half day local sightseeing. Local sightseeing – Meharangarh & Jasvant thada. Have lunch and leave for Ranakpur by 15:00 hrs. Reach Ranakpur by 19:30 Hrs. Rest and leisure time. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Kumbhalgarh - Udaipur (152 KM)
After breakfast visit Ranakpur temple and Kumbhalgarh fort. Kumbhalgarh fort is the birth place of Maharana Pratap. Then leave for Udaipur. Reach Udaipur at 18:00 hrs. Rest and leisure time. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
After breakfast, leave for half day local sightseeing. Visit Udaipur City Palace, Jagdish Temple & Monsoon Palace. Have lunch in the city during sightseeing. Leave for Ahmedabad by 16.00 hrs. Reach Ahmedabad by dinner time. Overnight in Ahmedabad hotel.
Ahmedabad to Pune
After breakfast, leave for Ahmedabad city sightseeing. Visit Sabarmati Ashram, after the Ashram, we will visit Adalaj Baav. After dinner board the Pune-Duronto Train at 22.30 hrs.
Reach Pune by 07.10 hrs.

- What to expect when in Thar?
The bike expedition of Thar will take you through various regions. Your travel will cover the Kutch region where you will witness the largest salt desert. The travel further will be through deserts, exploring ancient temples, forts and palaces.

The accommodations are always on double sharing basis unless otherwise opted for. Single sharing basis attracts an additional nominal fee, while triple sharing allows you to be eligible for a small discount.

The best time for this expedition is during the winters. December being the peak season for tourism it is always convenient to travel in the month of January. It is also a festive time in this month and one can get to experience the culture in the region.

Any person who is well versed with riding a geared bike and has a valid license can be part of this expedition.
- What is the difficulty level of this expedition?
The travel throughout the expedition is smooth as it is a state/ national highway. It is a non rugged terrain. One should remember that this an expedition and not a leisure trip and hence safety is of utmost importance.
